About this role

CareSwift is seeking experienced paramedics to join our clinical advisory team on a contract basis. This unique role allows you to continue your field work while helping shape the future of EMS documentation technology.

As a Contract Paramedic Advisor, you'll provide critical insights that directly influence our product development. Your real-world experience will help us build features that actually work in the back of an ambulance at 3 AM. You'll review our AI-generated documentation for clinical accuracy, test new features, and ensure our platform truly understands EMS workflows.

This is a flexible, remote position perfect for active paramedics looking to supplement their income while making a broader impact on the industry. You'll work 10-20 hours per week on your own schedule, participating in product reviews, creating training content, and advising our engineering team.

We're looking for paramedics who are passionate about improving EMS documentation and excited about the potential of technology to reduce provider burnout. If you've ever thought "there has to be a better way" while completing your PCR, this role is for you.

What you'll do

  • Review AI-generated documentation for clinical accuracy and completeness
  • Provide expert feedback on product features from a field provider perspective
  • Participate in weekly product review sessions via video conference
  • Test new features in simulated scenarios and provide detailed feedback
  • Create clinical scenarios and edge cases for product testing
  • Advise on EMS protocols, workflows, and documentation requirements across different states
  • Contribute to training materials and best practices documentation
  • Participate in customer success calls to provide clinical expertise
  • Review and validate clinical decision support algorithms
  • Help develop QA/QI criteria aligned with field realities
  • Provide insights on different ePCR systems and their workflows
  • Assist in creating product demos using realistic clinical scenarios

What we're looking for

  • Current National Registry Paramedic certification
  • Active state paramedic license (any state)
  • Minimum 5 years of field experience as a paramedic
  • Experience with multiple ePCR platforms (ESO, ImageTrend, Zoll, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of EMS documentation requirements and compliance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable with technology and video conferencing tools
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Available 10-20 hours per week on a flexible schedule
  • Reliable internet connection for remote work
  • Commitment to improving EMS documentation practices

Nice to have

  • Experience as an FTO (Field Training Officer) or EMS educator
  • Quality assurance or improvement experience in EMS
  • Familiarity with NEMSQA or state QI benchmarks
  • Experience with critical care or flight paramedicine
  • Background in EMS billing or revenue cycle
  • Previous experience with healthcare technology products
  • Public speaking or presentation experience
  • Experience working with diverse EMS systems (urban, rural, fire-based, private)
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 coding and documentation requirements
  • Certification in additional specialties (CCEMT-P, FP-C, CCP-C)
  • Experience with ET3 or community paramedicine programs
